The CPF Annual Auction is the main fundraiser for the California Planning Foundation.  The Auction takes place each year at the APA California Confernece.  CPF was established in 1971 as APA California’s nonprofit foundation. If you are a member of APA California, you are already a member of CPF. Relying on your donations and fund-raising activities like the auction, CPF annually awards approximately $50,000 in student scholarships and memberships in APA.

2019 CPF Auction & Raffle- Bidding Has Begun & and Call for Donations!

CPF’s primary fundraising activities include the annual CPF auction and raffle events held at the APA California Conference, which for 2019 will take place in Santa Barbara (September 15-18). We are excited to announce that one major change to this year’s event is a new auction format that will allow participants to bid online using a computer or smart device!  Bidding has now begun and you can sign up now by clicking here to begin viewing auction items and even submitting bids!  The raffle and auction will culminate at the Online Auction Fundraiser, Celebration, and Reception Monday, September 16thTo pre-register to participate in the online auction click here.

The raffle will look a bit different this year as well.  CPF raffle drawings will occur throughout the conference. You won’t want to miss the premier grand raffle prizes available exclusively at the CPF Online Auction Fundraiser, Celebration, and Reception on September 16th.

CPF always appreciates donations from our generous supporters. If you would like to donate items to the auction, here are a few suggestions:

  • Weekend stays at your cabin, beach house, or local resort
  • Day of consulting services
  • Tickets to sporting events, movies, or live performance theaters
  • New high-tech electronics
  • Artwork, antiques, and family heirlooms designated to pass on
  • New household decorating accessories
  • Deluxe item(s) gift baskets
  • Retail establishment, restaurant, coffee shop, candy store gift certificates
  • Rare/out-of-print or “hot-off-the-press” planning books
  • Individual bottles or a case(s) of wine
  • Gift certificates

Remember, APA members are also CPF members, so if you want to support students and help defray the cost of their planning education, please donate. 2018 CPF Auction- Thank You for Your Generosity!

A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated or participated in some other way in the CPF Auction and Raffle at the 2018 APA-California Conference in San Diego October 7-10, 2018.  Thanks to the generosity of Planners across the state, we raised nearly $20,000 to support scholarships for planning students across California!

This year represented the beginning of a strategic planning process to ensure CPF is able to raise needed funds for scholarships by diversifying our fundraising activities.  Outside of the auction an raffle, planners donated generously to the new CPF Diversity Scholarship, a second Diversity Scholarship to enhance our ongoing efforts to foster diversity and inclusion in the planning profession and be responsive to the increasing needs of California’s planning students.
